Maria Tamayo-Soto, MBA, Bio

 Actively engaged in the hospitality industry in Las Vegas, Nevada since 1986 Maria focused on security, casino surveillance operations, safety, workers compensation, and risk management on an operational level. She is certified by the State of Nevada as a Safety and Heath Practitioner and a licensed Notary Public. Maria holds a master’s degree in Business Administration and a bachelor’s degree in Human Services Management.

Previously she held positions as an Executive Director of Security, Surveillance & Safety for 6 years and spent 12 years in Security Operations Management and Investigations with in the Las Vegas Resort Corridor. Currently Maria holds the position of Traffic Manager for the country’s second largest convention center, the Las Vegas Convention Center with over 4.8 million square feet of space and 5,000 – 10,000 surface parking spaces which are converted to outdoor exhibit space, race tracks, or massive equipment displays for shows such as Con Expo or hosting over 180 thousand people over four days for CES. 

Operationally she is responsible for all paid parking revenue, over 120 on-call staff, working with City, State, or County entities in managing traffic control planning for larger events which may require multiple road closures and relocation of attendee parking to several off-site locations. Maria’s team is responsible for coordinating or managing all levels of transportation; taxis, rideshare companies, limos, show shuttles, charter vehicles, helicopter landings, POV traffic and employee and attendee parking daily.
